Not Welcome letter from Anglican Church.

Arriving at an Anglican Church in his City.

Arriving at an Anglican Church, looking for assistance! He Arrived at An Anglican Church in the middle of the City with his first and probably serious Girlfriend, requiring Accommodation and food Assistance. This was in the Early Eighties. They were running a little Coffee Shop and very few people around when first arriving. The few that were around seemed quite friendly and welcoming although I did feel more comfortable their than my Girlfriend. I was very Happy I recall when walking inside the church and seeing a Piano and Organ. It was a very Old big Organ which didn't sound great but it wasn't bad for its age. My girlfriend and the time and I were looking for somewhere to live. I can't really remember exactly how, but we were introduced to “ Church Leader “ who did assist us with finding boarding accommodation in a House in the suburbs with a male. Can't really remember his name. We moved into this accommodation and we then needed Furniture. We brought a very cheap bed for our room and we were set, so we thought. Over the next few months or so, my girlfriend and I were not getting on that well. We did split and she went on her own way. I was always just hangin at this Church during my days, playing the piano, assisting them with running the coffee shop. I felt I had a purpose and it felt like a warm place to be. I also started to play the piano for their Sunday morning Church Services. The Residing Minister also at the time appeared to be caring and a lovely man. He was very appreciative of the Piano music for his services. Probably a month went by and , whilst hangin around at the Church, another man was starting to hang around a bit. He was a big dude, with Tattoos everywhere, always wearing black. I noticed that he was always sitting around, smoking drinking coffee and chatting to people. This man appeared intimidating, and at times acted accordingly. I also started to say hi to this bloke , although I felt at the time, I was the one intiating the conversation. As time went by, it seemed as though more people were starting to talk and also pray with this man. He had a very caring nature, so it seemed and we actually became quite close. I remember him often coming around to where I was boarding, in the late hours, early morning wanting to go for drives, visiting people often talking about God and how his experience with God had changed him. He was actually quite inspiring, and the way he somehow use to tell these stories about his life were really quite heart breaking. But it seemed God had done this amazing transformation to this man. I remember him often saying that if I had met him on the streets, I would have been one of his lackys. I laughed it of at the time and continued to form a friendly relationship with him. He assisted in me buying an old black VW, he also had one and somehow convinced me it was a good buy. He later went onto take parts of my car, exchange this and that with his car, alot was going on, but for some reason , I trusted this man that he knew what he was doing. XxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxX From him first arriving, the Church seemingly became quite busy. By this time, it almost seemed as though the actual Minister gave this man Authority or, mmm something happened that he was intiating alot of good projects around the church. The Coffee shop was getting busier, cleaning up the Church Rectory, to be used for Homeless people. He seemed to be doing good things. By this time, I had met his wife and Family, living in a small flat in the suburbs, alot of people were basically just doing whatever this man said. I remember one of this man's fund raisers for the church was a car Rally. He encouraged people to donate money, their time walking around the suburbs, encouraging people to buy a magnet ,advertising their business. People actually did. I was one of the people who would walk around the suburbs, with his daughter and a couple more other people, trying to get sponsors. The Church was getting busy, and I think media were actually advertising the event, local radio host's cutting the ribbon, the Rally begun and all the cars had their magnets on, and everyone arrived and could camp at the destination in the hills. So by this time since this man arrived, the church which basically had about twenty or so Elderly people attending Sunday Mornings, with me playing the piano to a very busy place. It was interesting watching the place really get busy. People were donating their time, skills to assist in doing up both the Rectory and the Old House on the other side of the Church, this was used as a women's shelter intially, and then a Family moved in.
